How do I sign up?
Tap Open the Chart and continue with Google, Apple, or email. New captains start with a free 7-day trial — no card required.
What layers are available?
Tides (live & predicted), weather & wind, sea-surface temperature with isotherms, currents & swell, river flow & dam releases, hazards & notices, solunar & moon, the nautical chart, bathymetry contours, and Coast Pilot. Turn them on from the layer tray — each shows the best available source for the spot you're looking at.
Why does Tidal Map only show forecasts for about 3 days?
Because forecasts past a few days aren't reliable — we'd rather show you data you can actually trust than a number that's really a coin flip. For the long range, there's always the Farmer's Almanac, or your favorite weather guesser on the evening news.
What do I get with a subscription?
The full chart — every overlay, offline regions, and trip recording, no limits. Monthly or annual, and you can manage or cancel any time.
Does the free trial charge me automatically?
No. The 7-day trial needs no card and won't auto-charge — you're only billed if you choose to subscribe when it ends.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
If you subscribed on iPhone, manage it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions (or the App Store → your profile → Subscriptions) — cancel at least 24 hours before a renewal to avoid the next charge. If you subscribed on the web, manage it from your account. Payment on iOS is handled by Apple and charged to your Apple ID at confirmation.
How do I restore my subscription on a new device?
Tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen, or just sign in — your subscription is tied to your account and follows you across iPhone and the web.
How do I add my business as a local pin?
We feature a small, hand-picked set of local guides, shops, and outfitters as pins on the chart. Email support@tidalmap.com and we'll walk you through getting listed.
Do you support advertising?
Lightly — relevant local businesses appear as pins on the map, never as banners or pop-ups. If you'd like to be featured, get in touch.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Delete account in the app, or email us and we'll take care of it. Account, data, and billing details also live in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
