Delete Your TidalMap Account
Applies to the TidalMap apps for iOS and Android and to tidalmap.com. Last updated: August 31, 2026.
Delete from inside the app (fastest)
- Open TidalMap and sign in.
- Tap the ship's wheel to open the Captain's Helm.
- Choose Settings, then Delete account.
- Confirm. Deletion is immediate.
Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email
support@tidalmap.com
from the address on your account with the subject "Account deletion
request." We verify the request and complete it within 30 days,
almost always much sooner.
What gets deleted
- Your waypoints, recorded trips and tracks, favorite stations, and saved rivers.
- Your preferences, map settings, and captain profile (home port, gear).
- Your email address and sign-in credentials. Your login is removed, so the account can no longer be signed in to.
- Diagnostic log bundles tied to your account.
What is retained
We keep a minimal deletion record: an internal account identifier,
the date of deletion, and anonymous aggregate statistics (for
example, how many trips the account had recorded). This record
contains no email address, no location data, and no content, and it
cannot be used to sign in or to rebuild your data. It is retained
for accounting and fraud detection purposes.
Payments are handled by Apple and Google. Deleting your TidalMap
account cancels the link between your subscription and TidalMap,
but you should also cancel the subscription itself in your App
Store or Google Play subscription settings so you are not billed
again.
Starting over
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You can create a new
account with the same email address at any time; it starts
completely fresh, with none of the old account's data.
